• Eros thrives on friction.

• Friction implies two dissimilar elements rubbing against each other, generating heat, fire, passion, desire.

• A ‘NO’ by itself has no payoff in it.
  A ‘YES’ by itself loses its edge very fast.

• YES & NO together are generative. Like two flints clashing and creating sparks.

• This NO element often confounds people. It confounds people because they have not accepted and reconciled the structure of their Eros.

• If we account for the necessity of the ‘NO’ element for generating Eros, we can proceed to evoke and include this ’NO’ element masterfully and artistically in our Erotic creations.

In this course, we will use the framework of BDSM, and the Dominant/submissive dynamic to explore this YES - NO template of our Eros.

THE MANY CONFIGURATIONS OF THE YES-NO ARCHITECTURE OF EROS

This YES-NO combination can be created in many categories within the human experience.  Each YES-NO category we will mention below is VAST — it is a world onto itself.

The human experience itself is build on a YES-NO template.  Where there is good, there is bad.  Where there is positive, there is negative.  And our Eros spans the entire range of our human experience, including all the vast arrays in which we experiences the ‘BAD’, the ‘UNDESIRABLE’, the ‘UNWANTED’, the ‘NO’.

In this course, we will examine some of these YES-NO combinations for our investigation:

• POSITIVE EMOTION + NEGATIVE EMOTION

• PLEASURE + PAIN

• CERTAINTY + UNCERTAINTY

• SAFE + UNSAFE

• PURE + IMPURE

• CONTROL + LOSS OF CONTROL

• FREEDOM + LOSS OF FREEDOM

• CONSENT + NONCONSENT

• RESPECTABILITY + DISRESPECT

• HAVING + NOT HAVING/LONGING/LOSS

• TOGETHERNESS + SEPERATION

• NORMAL/DECENT + INDECENT/TRANSGRESSIVE

• BEING VALUED + BEING DEVALUED, DEGRADED

• BEING CHERISHED + BEING HUMILIATED

• BEING CHOSEN + BEING REJECTED

• GENTLE/KIND + PREDATORY/VIOLATOR

• BEING FOUND GOOD + BEING FOUND BAD

POLARIZED ARCHETYPE PAIRS

After we are done playing with individual pairs of YES-NO energies within our own system and and within the system of our partners, we are ready to graduate to level of ARCHETYPES.  There are many polarized archetypes that together form this YES-NO combination when they come together in their individual expression.  In this course, we will examine the  following archetypical pairs for our purposes:

• DOMINANT + SUBMISISVE

• DADDY + LITTLE GIRL

• OWNER + OWNED

• COURTESAN + CLIENT

• MASTER + SLAVE

In each of these paired combination, one person in the partnership embodies one archetype and the other partner embodies the other.  Together they form that colliding flints combination that generates spark, heat and fire for both of them.

What each of us needs to ask ourselves is, ‘What is my NATIVE archetype.’  If my native archetype is the MASTER or the DOMINANT or the DADDY, then those archetypes constitute my YES.  I know those archetypes.  I know those energies.  I am at home in them.  I am comfortable in them.  These archetypes come naturally to me.

But ‘comfortable’ and ‘natural’ is not particularly interesting.  It is the YES element by itself.  And any YES element by itself is unactivated.  It is without animation.  It is dormant.

But put a MASTER in connection with a SLAVE, and we’ve got sparks!

We need the other.  We need CONTRAST.  We need the other who is going to be the NO element to our native YES energies.  A Dominant needs a submissive.  Conversely, a submissive needs their Dominant.  We need the other to bring the contrasting element to our energies so that we may spark against them and create an interesting game.
